With a new month comes a new shift in perspective.
The PoinbankLibra New Moon ushering in on Oct. 2 isn’t your typical lunar phase: This one is also a solar eclipse, which according to astrologer Aliza Kelly, “stands out because it focuses heavily on relationships, balance, and fairness.”
“Libra energy is about partnership, diplomacy, and harmony,” host of the Horoscope Weekly podcast and author of the forthcoming book, It's All Magic told E! News, “so this eclipse will bring up themes around how we relate to others—both romantically and professionally.”
As Aliza explained, “Unlike eclipses in more action-oriented signs, this one pushes us to find equilibrium between asserting our own needs and accommodating others. With Mercury also involved, communication will play a huge role in how these changes unfold, potentially revealing truths or miscommunications that need to be addressed.”
In fact, when compared to other eclipses, the focus this time around “isn’t just on bold personal transformation,” she noted, “but on how we navigate the balance between ‘me’ and ‘we’—making it crucial for addressing imbalances in relationships, contracts, and collaborations.”
As for which zodiac signs this eclipse will affect the most?
“For signs most impacted—Libra, Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn, this is a time to establish boundaries, release people-please tendencies,” Aliza shared, “and push forward regardless of external validation.”
But what about focusing on any manifestations under this new moon? According to Aliza, this would not be the best time to do so.
“The energy during eclipse season is unpredictable and intense, making it a moment to release control and let the universe work its magic,” she added. “Instead of trying to force outcomes, use this time to reflect on what needs to shift in your life.”
Read on to see how each sign will be affected by this new moon in Libra.
Aries
For Aries (March 21–April 19), in the love department, the focus will be “balancing independence with partnerships,” Aliza noted, adding that in terms of career she advises, “collaborating more effectively and considering the needs of others as you pursue personal goals.”
Taurus
In the areas of love, for Taurus (April 20- May 20), reevaluating “daily habits and how they impact your relationships,” will be key. Also important, she added, “streamlining routines to create more harmony and efficiency at work.”
Gemini
This eclipse for Gemini (May 21 - June 20) involves “embracing creative risks and deeper romantic expression,” Aliza pointed out adding that “pursuing passion projects may lead to new opportunities or recognition.”
Cancer
As for Cancer (June 21- July 22), “Finding stability and balance in home and family dynamics,” will be a focal point, while you consider “how your personal life impacts your career goals and overall work-life balance.”
Leo
This time for Leo (July 23-August 22) involves “deepening intimacy through meaningful conversations,” the podcast host explained, while simultaneously “exploring new networking opportunities and strengthening local connections for career growth.”
Virgo
For Virgo (August 23-September 22), it’s all about “discussing shared resources and responsibilities in relationships,” and “reassessing your financial goals and aligning them with your professional values” when it comes to your career.
Libra
And since the eclipse is arriving in the sign of partnerships (September 23-October 23), “asserting your needs in relationships and finding balance between ‘me’ and ‘we,’” is important, the author noted, but don’t forget to take “the lead in your professional life and embrace personal initiatives with confidence.”
Scorpio
It’s out with the old and in with the new for Scorpio (October 23–November 21) as they should focus on “releasing old emotional baggage and healing hidden parts of your relationship life,” while also “letting go of outdated career patterns and preparing for new professional beginnings.”
Sagittarius
For Sagittarius (November 22-December 21), Aliza shared it’s all about “rethinking the role of your social circles in your romantic life,” and “focusing on collaborations and group projects that align with your long-term vision.”
Capricorn
As for Capricorn (December 22–January 19), this chapter is about “balancing your professional responsibilities with your relationships.” But that’s not all as “major career shifts or promotions could be on the horizon, pushing you to redefine your goals.”
Aquarius
Fear not, Aquarius (January 20–February 18) as this new moon will force you to expand “your horizons by connecting with someone who broadens your worldview,” and will have you “exploring new opportunities, potentially in education or international ventures, that push you outside your comfort zone.”
Pisces
Last but not least, Pisces (February 19–March 20) will find themselves on an adventure, “diving deep into intimacy and trust and addressing unresolved issues,” Aliza said, adding that “reevaluating shared resources or financial partnerships can potentially leading to transformative changes.”
