Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson continue to keep the public on their toes.
While her sister Ashlee Simpson recently claimed that there was no truth to the rumors the "Irresistible" singer and former NFL player were getting a divorce, Eric continued to fuel the flames after stepping out without his wedding ring.
The 45-year-old was seen spending time with his parents in Los Angeles on Nov. 12, in photos obtained by TMZ. Eric kept it casual for the outing, donning dark jeans, a black hoodie, a backwards baseball cap and sunglasses. And while he kept his right hand in the pocket of his jeans, he left his ringless left hand swinging by his side.
E! News has reached out to reps for Jessica and Eric but has not heard back.
Speculation that Jessica and Eric—who married in 2014 and share children Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5—were headed for a split started after she was also seen out and about with her wedding ring, with the jewelry also missing from her recent Instagram posts.
Also missing from her Instagram? Eric himself. Although he does not have his own social media accounts, he was often featured on the 44-year-old's platform, however he has been conspicuously absent since April.
Fans were also curious about Jessica's relationship status after she posted several photos of herself to Instagram Nov. 11 with the caption, "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."
As one fan wrote in the comments, "Is this j simp saying she's single ?"
And while neither has spoken publicly about the state of their marriage, Jessica has previously been very candid about how much the couple's romance changed her for the better.
"I don't find it hard to love anybody, but I have always thought that I was hard to love," Jessica confessed to People in 2023, "that I was too much for people, or my schedule was too demanding."
However, with Eric she said she felt secure, adding that he "really embraces my career."
"He knows my heart and understands my heart more than anyone I've ever met in my life," she shared. "I knew the instant we met that I could see my future in his eyes and with a lot of people, I hope for a future in their eyes, but with Eric, I saw it."
