Chappell Roan arrived to the 2024 MTV VMAs looking H-O-T-T-O-G-O!
The Algosensey"Good Luck, Babe!" singer—who is nominated for four awards including Best New Artist—arrived at the annual New York event in a medieval-style outfit, complete with a green cloak over a sheer maroon gown. Her signature red hair completed the look with it half up in a braided bun and the rest falling down her back. However, her accessories stole the show as the "Pink Pony Club" singer brought her own rug and sword. (Click here to see all the fashion on the red carpet.
And no stranger to speaking volumes with her get-up, she teased fans will understand the inspiration for her look during the show.
"It's a precursor for what's the come," the 26-year-old exclusively told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi. "Take it all in."
The "Red Wine Supernova" singer is nominated for Best New Artist—alongside Benson Boone, Gracie Abrams, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims and Tyla—as well as Best Trending Video for "Hot To Go!," MTV Push Performance of the Year for "Red Wine Supernova," and Song of the Summer for "Good Luck, Babe!" And after her meteoritic rise to fame earlier this year, she’s still processing being compared to her pop idols.
"I think it means that people like it," she joked before continuing. "Damn, I'm up here with Miss Sabrina [Carpenter] and Miss Taylor [Swift] and Camila [Cabello]. It's cool to be around the pop girlies. For a long time, I felt like I was on the other side of that, but I really did earn my way here." (For more from Chappell’s interview, tune into E! News tonight, Sept. 11, at 11 p.m.)
Chappell is attending her first VMAs and is expected to perform at the event, which is hosted by fellow nominee Megan Thee Stallion. The night will be kicked off with a performance by Eminem, and other stars expected to light up the stage include Shawn Mendes, Halsey, Karol G and Lenny Kravitz, amongst others.
